A Year in Review: 2023

First, we are so thankful for all of our amazing clients. You’ve allowed us to work on some amazing projects and we’ve gotten to know so many of you, your families, and your businesses.

We know that it’s hard to navigate all of the technology that exists which is why we’re so passionate about helping you live and work happier, safer, and more sustainably. As 2023 comes to a close, we wanted to highlight a handful of projects that showcase the wide variety of products and services that we offer.

Everyday Wines

The fine folks at Everyday Wines located in Marquette, Michigan wanted to update their security, telephones, and Wi-Fi network to keep the store secure and connected. For simplicity, we went with a complete Ubiquiti system that allows them to control their network, cameras, and phone service all with one brand. We color-matched the cables and access points to the black ceiling, so they are barely noticeable while shopping for your next bottle of wine or cheese plate.

Utilizing UniFi Protect, we were able to install several cameras that will allow the owner to see “hot spots” in the shop, allowing them to see what people are looking at the most so that they can stock more of that product and provide more helpful information for people who don’t want the personal shopping experience. With Ubiquiti’s phone system, the owner can see the door cameras on the phone in his office so that he can quickly walk to the showroom to help customers if other team members are busy.

Bear Lake Tavern

The Bear Lake Tavern located in Muskegon, Michigan opened a new outdoor food service station this summer, the BLTiki. They wanted to bring music to everyone wanting to enjoy the beautiful summer weather. We installed a few Sonos Amps and the brand-new Origin Acoustics OS80 Speakers. Bringing great bass and acoustics in a single speaker. It was easy to blend the black speaker into the dark blue building making them barely noticeable to the patrons.

In addition to the new tunes, we installed cameras, Wi-Fi and networking, and Toast Point-of-Sale. This restaurant is always getting complimented on its service and atmosphere.

Studio Eschylon – Barndominium

This luxurious rentable property by Studio Echylon, located in Fennville, Michigan will be available soon. Featuring multi-colored cove lighting, LG Ultra HD TVs, Wi-Fi 6 networking, and energy-saving light switches; all tied together with an intelligent smart home controller from Ezlo. When you walk into the great room, you are immediately greeted with colorful lights shining across the ceiling above the exposed wood beams. Each bedroom also has its own RGB lighting so that you can set the mood for any occasion.

Bathroom Upgrade

This client was upgrading their master bathroom and knew that he and his wife wanted something to stay connected while they got ready in the morning and wound down at night. That is why we recommended an Electric Mirror with a built-in TV. This allows them to watch their favorite show as they get ready in the mirror and with the Sonos Amp and Origin Acoustic Speakers in the ceiling, it looks and sounds amazing!

New Home Build

This year we worked on a new home that wanted to focus on connectivity, sustainability, and simplicity. We installed networking throughout the home, dimmable/connected light switches, and educated them on how to control the system from anywhere in the world. They also built a beautiful fireplace as a focal point in their living room, but this limited where they could put a television. So we proposed a MantelMount for their TV which allows them to pull the TV down to a more comfortable viewing level, while being able to put it back above the mantel when they aren’t using it. See the difference below!

Kall Morris Inc.

KMI, based out of Marquette, Michigan moved into its own office space this year as their team size grew substantially. With this, they knew that they needed to get some additional technology implemented to help them work more efficiently while also needing to comply with various government security standards. We were able to offer them NDAA and NIST compliant technology solutions for door access control, Wi-Fi/Networking, security cameras, lighting controls, computers and support, and more. We became their one-stop shop for everything technology.

Adelaide Pointe

Adelaide Pointe is the largest project we’ve ever participated in; a multi-year development on Muskegon Lake. Featuring boat storage, a marina, restaurants, retail spaces, a hotel, condominiums, and more – It takes a lot to keep it all connected and efficient.

Currently, we’ve covered a large portion of the campus with Wi-Fi and nearly every building features keycard door access; making it easy for people to have access to the buildings they need while denying access to areas they’re not permitted. They renovated their offices this Fall and with our help, it now includes digital signage, Neat Zoom conferencing boards, lighting controls, smart thermostats, and more. Upcoming projects include the new restaurant and retail buildings as well as the new condominiums which are expected to be move-in ready come late spring of 2024. Currently, we’re working with the condo owners to see what technologies they want to implement into their new abode.

Campfire CoWorks

A coworking space constantly has people coming in and out of its doors. With everyone having a different work style, it can get noisy with the Masonic Mall’s tall ceilings. This was a perfect scenario for some acoustic tiles in the private desk work area. We mixed a few options to match the budget and aesthetics.

We started with some Elgato Wave Panels in the desk dividers. This would allow sound to be absorbed by the people talking into their phones and computers, ensuring the sound didn’t have a ton of room to bounce back into the wider open space – dually absorbing some of the background sound, rather than letting it bounce back to the desk user. Secondly, we installed some Artnovion acoustic tiles on the outside walls of the space to absorb sound from the general area. With so many hard surfaces, we were able to break that up with these amazing red tiles which really elevated the look and feel of the area.
